Since 2006, the two best rookies - the two young athletes with the best performance in the heptathlon and decathlon - have been chosen every year in Götzis. A top-class jury of experts evaluates the performances of the two competition days and makes its choice.

In Götzis, combined events history has been written again and again. Numerous records, countless personal bests and, to crown it all, Roman Sebrle's world record in the men's decathlon, which has been valid for many years - all this has made the Hypomeeting the clear international number 1 among combined event meetings.

They are the kings and queens of athletics. And their performances cannot be compared with any other discipline - the combined events require a combination of jumping, running and throwing.
